Joanna Greenbaum

Joanna Greenbaum, LMFT

Psychotherapist

Joanna collaborates with her clients to create an explorative process where they can freely be themselves. She believes therapy offers an opportunity to work through difficult experiences as well as deepen meaning and purpose in one’s life.

By helping her clients process emotions and understand motivations for behaviors, Joanna fosters an environment that helps individuals develop insight and strengthen their relationship with themselves. She incorporates mindfulness to enhance one’s awareness and support their mind and body connection. Joanna invites people to bring their whole selves into therapy and welcomes artistic expression, humor, dreams, and spirituality into the room.

Joanna specializes in anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship challenges, identity, and burnout. She works with people seeking support to process difficult experiences, improve their relationships, or manage overwhelming feelings at a crossroads in life. Additionally, Joanna is passionate about working with women’s issues including difficulty with menstrual cycles, PMDD (pre-menstrual dysphoric disorder), pregnancy, fertility, pregnancy loss and sexual health.

Joanna received her Bachelor’s degree at California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo studying Business and Studio Art and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. She trained at The Maple Counseling Center in psychodynamic practice. Joanna has a background in body acceptance and supports the Health At Every Size movement where body size does not indicate an individual’s assumed health status or lifestyle.
