Ebony Towner, APCC

Associate Professional Clinical Counselor

Ebony’s hope for her clients is a life where they can choose how to live, identify, and express themselves. Many times, our upbringing, societal norms, and traumas keep us from pursuing our true desires and unique path in life. Ebony seeks to help her clients navigate their complex world of responsibilities, reputations, social belonging, and ambitions with the intention of making more space for nurturing expression, joy, and satisfaction in their lives.

Ebony believes that healing is a long and transformative journey that is best done in connection with empathetic others. The therapeutic relationship can facilitate growth and courage to take steps in your life that were previously too daunting. As your therapist, Ebony will join you in your journey and provide safety, understanding, acceptance, reflection, and perspective, which everyone needs to flourish.

Ebony works psychodynamically with all clients, with a special interest in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, kink-identified, queer, and other non-conforming folks. She sees clients via tele-health only.

Ebony earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Berkeley and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University in Colorado. She also holds a Master’s degree in Special Education and previously worked with children and adults on the autism spectrum. Ebony completed a 2-year internship at the Wright Institute, Los Angeles, where she earned a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She has coordinated psychoanalytic seminars with various organizations and individuals including the New Center for Psychoanalysis, the American Psychoanalytic Association, and the Regional Bion Symposium.

Ebony is an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (12171) registered through the Board of Behavioral Sciences. At Silver Lake Psychotherapy she is supervised by Alice Smith, LMFT (118591).
