Tyler Howard, M.A.
Tyler Howard is receiving her PsyD at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology – Los Angeles. She trained at the Los Angeles LGBT Center, Western Youth Services in Orange County, and the Chicago School Counseling Center in Westwood, and she spent her pre-doctoral internship at the Wright Institute Los Angeles. Tyler has worked with adults, adolescents, and couples. She strives to provide a therapeutic environment that is sensitive to both cultural differences and personal history, and hopes to help lead her clients towards self-discovery, self-efficacy and healthy relationships.
Tyler has an interest in the current research on stress and resilience. She uses an integrative approach to counseling, applying aspects of psychoanalytic theory, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. She particularly enjoys working with young adults and people in life transitions. Areas of interest include abuse, loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, sexuality, gender, cultural identity, and interpersonal relationships.
Tyler is a Registered Psychological Assistant (PSB94023527). She is currently collecting hours towards licensure and is supervised by Dr. Lauren Harb (PSY-27519).
