Dr. Suberman received his Bachelors degree in Psychology from Skidmore College and completed his post-baccalaureate pre-medical training at Columbia University. He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Suberman went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania where he completed an Adult Psychiatry Residency and served as Chief Resident. While at Penn, he trained extensively in the biological underpinnings of psychological distress and honed his skills as a psychotherapist. He has been trained, and provided treatment, in numerous settings including inpatient psychiatry units, emergency settings and outpatient clinics. The University of Pennsylvania awarded Dr. Suberman the Kenneth D. Cohen Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Prize for excellence in providing psychotherapy. His experience also includes 2 years of co-leading a private practice therapy group with Dr. Judith Coché of the Coché Center and working with children, adolescents and adults in acute psychiatric care settings at Fairmount Behavioral Health Hospital. In addition to private practice, he continues training as a child & adolescent fellow at UCLA.
